Aadi Masam - Ithu Enna Kodumai..

Yappa, yaaravuthu - intha aadi masatha patti ennaku konjam sollungapa!!! I just cant understand about this aadi fiasco! Aadi maasam aachuna kalyanam panika kudatham, engagement panika kudatham, ponna kuda parka kudatham!! Athu matuma, namma cinema-karanga kuda puthu padangala aadi masathula release panna matangalam!!! Ippadiye ponna, innum konja naalula - aadi masathula toilet kuda poga kudathu-nu sonnalum solvanga!!

Ok as far as I understand, in the case of marriage - if they get married in July- there is high probability, that the wife may have to deliver a baby in May - which is supposed to be a very HOT month..The conditions are not ideal!! But that is in Asia..Inga Europe-la it doesnt hold true..So namma munorkal would have said dont marry in Aadi! So I guess based on that, the next generation tamils would have started saying Aadi is bad and never do anything good in this month! This is my take! Does anybody else know the reason behind it? Please let me know..

This is what I know...But don't nondify too much..I am also trying to find answers to some of the questions..This is what I read/heard from others. So I cannot vouch for the accuracy...

According to Hindu mythology the 6 months of the calendar year starting from Aadi to Margazhi is the night time for God!! and the 6 months from Thai to Aani is day time for God( To me this sounds stupid, but anyways)...

The six months from aadi to marghazi are supposed to be spent in religious activities, and that's why we see so many festivals stuffed in this six months...At the end of the sixth month, i.e after pongal festival, people probably go back to work and work hard for the remaining six months..(May be this was the norm of those days!)..

As parvati said every activity must be devoted to GOD but of course its not so easy after all we are humans..Maybe that's why God and Humans made an agreement and decided that they would work for 6 months and spend the remaining 6 months in devotion..(Again my speculation)...

Anyway I like this 6 months because today I already had the coconut payasam and every friday in this month, my mom would prepare sakkarai pongal and it's festive time..Who doesn't like festivals?
