Girls and Happiness..

Guys usually think its too hard to please a girl..but from what I have learnt from my 28 years of existence and experience, this dogma is not true and its actually very easy to please a girl..

Intha ponnungaluku chinna chinna vishayathula thaan aasaiyai! My sister called me three days back and said "Anna, unnaku naan treat thara poren since I am soooooooooooo happy!" - and I asked her y? - and she replied that "Surya has said in an interview that he is going to marry Jyothika in December!" Naatuku romba mukiyamana seythi!!!

My wife called me up and told me she is so happy and emotional..I asked her y? and she replied that my sister sent her an e-card! A simple e-card has made her so happy..

So small things such as a flower, a card, or some kadalai mittai would make a girl happy..If she is angry with u, give her "halwa" - I meant buy her halwa :D..And then like the colgate advert, she would show all her 32 teeth back at u! Or tell her some crap like "Vathanamo Chandra Bimbamo" or tell her "nee siricha silarai kotura mathriye iruku" (english-la solanumna - u sound like a raa pitchai!) and she would go WoW!

But guys r not like that..Avangaluku ellame perusa iruntha thaan pidikum..Saapatilayum, ennaku eppothume poori pidikathu - Channa Bathura thaan pidikum :D lol..I guess we guys are very hard to please compared to the girls!..Do u agree with me?

wow shuba that was height of self glorification - "girls are more dedicated than guys "

Such an old school of thought from an educated person - a disappointment.

Girls or Guys - one cannot say who is more dedicated than the other - it depends from person to person - As we progress, one thing is for sure - If given the right conditions - A man and a woman are not different from each other - Society had shaped them in their present roles. Now with equality between the two sexes - things have changed.

Ponder on it with a hot cup of coffee and you should be able to see it. And please not with a feminist point of view ;)

I think you are partially correct. I feel your wife is perfectly normal..after marriage a women expects only certain things..most important thing is acceptance from her in-laws..and any small thing that they do for her would surely drive her crazy. When my mother-in-law says "I cooked ur favourite dish..and remembered u" I feel moved...she feels the same way when I remember her in certain things..I think that's the most important thing.
When it comes to husband, a caring smile and understanding words are worth more than a diamond necklace :-). But then if everyone understands this truth then life would be smooth which is not how its supposed to be :-(.

Aatma....im definitely not a feminist!!!!hopefully u read my comment properly!!!

//girls are more dedicated than guys(of course few exceptions may be there)
//

I have already mentioned here that exceptions are there!!!!hopefully u read it!!!!

//Girls or Guys - one cannot say who is more dedicated than the other - it depends from person to person//

accepted this is what i have mentioned as exceptions are there!!!I have heard of people of both extremes...on both genders!!!but challenge u the ratio towards the worser side is more on men...may be 60 :40(ippadiyum oru pen genmamanu sila perayum paathirukken.....ippdiyum oru manaanu aachayapadara maadiri nalla psangalayum pakkaren)

//Society had shaped them in their present roles. Now with equality between the two sexes - things have changed.
//

things have changed.....i really don think so..certain responsiblities from a girl s side will definitely be there how many ever centuries pass on!!!definitely a pinch of responsibility sincerity will be more in any women compared to men.....if i have to go in details....there is lot of issues to be shared!!!!

dedication has its own reason also!!!taking into consideration physical constraints ...societies perspective...most women are a more lot dedicated ...compared to men!!!!(exceptions are there)

MAy be the degree of dedication varies from person to person!!!

//wow shuba that was height of self glorification - "girls are more dedicated than guys "

this is not self glorification but facts!!!!

//Manaivi ammai vadhlam Iraivan kudtha varam Machan - so pray to god ;) //
this is also a old statement!!!!!

An extract from............men are from mars women are from venus....

it jus says quotes from bible...is god a feminist...see the list of instructions he has given men!!!!this shows how responsible men are!He has said that taken into consideration all centuries...and all educated people!!!

It goes like thiss......

God created men and women to be different. So it's not surprising to find how many of our uniquenesses and needs are addressed by God's commands and precepts in the Bible.
[Sue] In this section we'll consider women's needs and issues, and look at how God's commands fit perfectly with the observations we've made. In the next section, we'll look at men's needs.

As I said above, our primary need as women is to be cherished--to be shown TLC, understanding, respect, devotion, validation, and reassurance.

[Ray] And in Ephesians 5:25, we read God's command that addresses this need: "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her." When we think about the way Christ loves the church, we see a sacrificial love, a tender love, and a love that is committed to acting in the church's best interests at our Savior's own expense. God doesn't just want men to love their wives like they love sports--He wants us to love our wives in a way that makes them feel cherished and very special. He wants us to love our wives with a sacrificial love that puts her needs and desires above our own.

1 Peter 3:7 gives further instruction along this line: "You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way." The Greek literally reads, "Dwell with them according to knowledge." The only way to live with your wife in an understanding way is to seek to know her. And when a husband listens and responds to what his wife shares--remembering that women are created to be verbal--she will feel cherished and understood and loved.

The last part of 1 Peter 3:7 continues, "live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman." This isn't a slam on women. When we read this verse, we ought to think along the lines of a fine china cup. It's definitely weaker than a tin cup, but that's because it's so fragile, delicate, and far more valuable. When we serve dinner on our china, we're very careful in handling it, and extremely protective of washing and drying it. We treat our china with tenderness and gentleness because of its fragility and value. That's how we cherish it. And that's how a man is to treat his wife--not roughly or carelessly, but with tenderness and gentleness, because God made women to be treated with special care.

[Sue] The flip side of needing to be cherished is our need for security. We need to be protected and provided for. Even when a wife works, she wants to know that her husband is the main provider, or at least truly wants to be and is working to that end. The burden of being forced to provide for our families is bigger than we should have to bear.

[Ray] God created that need for security within women. That's why He puts such a high value on the provisional aspect of a man's character. 1 Timothy 5:8 says, "If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." God wants us men to be diligent workers and providers. He created us to bear the burden of providing; women are to be protected from that burden whenever possible.//

Very nice comments Shuba - Again you just derived a meaning that you saw fit from the gospels.

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her." - He gave instructions on how to love your wife - This in no way means that a woman is more responsible and dedicated than man - it only means that a man is far more understanding than a woman - he does not need things to be spelled out each and every time. -- See this is my interpretation.

Exception - the word when used means a very small group of people - So when u said exception naturally u know what i would have understood.

Now 60-40 % ratio when used, cannot be said as an exception right ???

And shuba i never said u are a feminist - How can i judge you when i don't even know you - I only said don't think through a feminist point of view - i didn't say u are a feminist.

Its just that I always keep hearing all these things about men - I thought someone should stand up and say - we also know how to love, we also know how to care - we are in no ways less responsible and less caring than women.

" GOD alreday realised...who is more responsible and dediacted" - Yep God certainly knew who needs more attention. Think about it - with a hot cup of coffee :)

I felt it that Since ladies are already very much loving he told men how to love..this is how i interpret!

//Its just that I always keep hearing all these things about men - I thought someone should stand up and say - we also know how to love, we also know how to care - we are in no ways less responsible and less caring than women.//

Ya men are loving I do accept!!!when my dad can love me..I accept men can love!when my dad can be responsible on my well being of course ..i accept men can be responsible and dedicating!!!that point of view ill accept...as Im yet to encounter the other relationship.

// GOD alreday realised...who is more responsible and dediacted" - Yep God certainly knew who needs more attention. Think about it - with a hot cup of coffee :) //

With cofee also I though about it ..without drinking god also I thought about me...God felt women are more dedicated and responsible tahts y...he blessed women with the greatest bliss of carrying a kid.Cos he felt she can be patient enuf for 9 months...and be responsible and caring to bring up the child...so tahts y GOD was partial towards women and gave them more responsibilities...or else he wud have bestowed the duty to men!!!

Now Atma sit with a cup of coffee and think IF god is smart enuf on this decision of his!

" -- That is also open for interpretation - It is so that men who are far more responsible have the responsibility of taking care of the women at that important and crucial time - Women have an important responsibility of taking care of the baby - but men have an even more important responsibility of taking care of their women and the baby that she is carrying.

See Shuba - This is the power of interpretation - we both can see it in the way we want too.

Shuba - You have excellent points

"every inch a girl lives as per her guys wishes" - 100% true with very small exceptions..

"he blessed women with the greatest bliss of carrying a kid" -true. @aatma..you can interpret other stuff in any way but I feel atleast this credit should be given to women..no second thoughts to it. Motherhood is the greatest gift that God has given to women..I'm not bragging abt it but that's the truth. Ungala maathiri yaaravathu nallavanga ;-) may carry both their wife and kid.

"girls are more dedicated than guys" - Shuba .. that's only a perception..I'd say its 50-50.

But I think guys deserve their share of credit in today's world. So, since guys are too sacrificing ;-) and don't want to defend themselves..let me speak for them.

I interpret the sayings in this way
"God created women and maybe he knew that she wasn't strong enough to be alone..She had all excellent qualities of love, care, patience, responsibilities, etc but she needed a man to support her so that she could display all these qualities. Its true that men and women are made for each other. One fulfills the other's life and together they make the world a better place to live. God told men how to take care of women maybe becoz he knew women needed special attention and are very fragile. Men know to control their emotions better than women".
So, I think husbands know to love, care, etc but wives don't understand that..I know very few men in my life. I too had an excellent father who was a super-dad and an understanding husband. Women are not perfect from day one neither are men, but we learn things as life goes on.

Pavithra - You are the first and the only one to stand up and give an unbiased opinion. Thanks a lot for that.

Yes I completely agree with you Motherhood is the most beautiful and most precious gift that god has given to women - And I bow in reverence to all the women in the world who have taken that responsibility - I am always indebted to women for giving us the oppurtunity to take care of you at that time. The least that any man can do is take care of them at that special time.

And again thanks for acknowledging that no one is perfect and thanks for acknowledging that we also love equally.

Next Mr/Miss/Mrs Anonymous : " women tend to show love much more easily than guys " - No basis just talk han - I don't think so, we also show as much love and as easily than any girls - For that matter i believe we express it in a much better fashion.

If you don't like a hot cup of coffee - u can have hot cup of tea or cold soda and think about it ;)

And at last veda: I was just joking when i said about samiyar's - I meant ippaddi tune pani tune panithan pasangle sethu aa akirenge - It was just a joke.

But coming to a serious matter - Girls and guys are the same - if given the same oppurtunity - You said that a guy will remarry to take care of his family while a girl won't - Which generation are you living in anyways - Plus that is not out of choice that a girl wants to stay alone - it is because the society has been male dominated and it looked like a stigma for a girl to remarry. I am strongly against it anyways - Girls should have equal rights and for that matter they should remarry so that they have someone who will share the responsibility with them. Please don't paint women as martyr or great souls - Men and women are both similar - they have the same set of virtues and same set of weakness - no one is better than the other. They both are equal.

Plus if girls were the way they were that you and shuba and countless others are quoting - than believe me , then men are the luckiest people in the world to have such lovely, dedicated souls for them - But that is really not the case. Again society has structured it in the way that u girls are seeing it - Things are changing rapidly - For better or for worse - And believe me - Men stand to lose big time.

Veda - neither was I talking about remarriages of widows - I was talking about divorced and women who have been left behind by useless men[who should not be even considered humans]. I believe they also need to get remarried and have a support system dedicated just for them.
