Responsibility and Sacrifice

Ponna monday, naan enga university-la irukira oru lecturer-oda pesitu irunthen..His name is Nakeeran..Anna Uni la thaan PhD mudichitu, then he was working as a postdoctoral researcher in many universities throughout the world for 10 years..ippo thaan univ of Aberdeen-la lecturer velai kidaichu vanthu irukirar..I was asking how is the standard here compared to the Indian system of education? Avar sonnar, that the education system is useless compared to the Indian counterparts..I didnt agree with him completely..Naan sonnen, naama thevai illama oorla - irukira ellatheyum thandama padichitu irukom..naan BE - la 64 subjects padichen in 8 semesters..first yr la maths,physics, eng drawing-nu neraya thevai illama padichen..ippadi ovaru semesters-layum we ended up studying loads..and at the end of day - I dont know what I studied..so no use-nu sollitu irunthen..but he didnt agree with it..So I asked him - then how come all the greatest inventions in this world were by whites? y by not our ppl?Athuku avar sonna pathil thaan intha blog-oda topic..

Last weekend..

Aberdeen ennum gramathuku vanthu irandu maasam aiduchu..Ithanai naalum no friends...Saturday - kaalang kathalaya intha siru kathaiyai eluthi blog-la post pannitu, adutha sila siru kathaikalai patti yosichitu irunthen..nammaku thaan director Bala mathri kathaila oru character savadhichu thaan elutha thonum..vera mathri yosika varathu..en room full-a sudugadu vasanai adika arambichiduchu! sari time-o paartha 5:00 pm or something..sari innaiku full-a en room-kula thaan irukenu - oru walk poitu varalamnu kilambinen..en flat-ai vitu veliyai vantha en road-la 3 periya sudugadu iruku..entha pakkam thirumbinalum oru sudugadu..chaa room-la thaan sudugadu-na veliyaiyum athey! But the sudugadus here are so beautiful..sudugadukula pugunthu photo edupen..I have taken some pics..I am posting one...it was dark - so not clear..intha sudugadu is not photogenic..nera paartha alaga irukum :))..one of our PhD student thinks I have a very scary taste! But alaga ethu irunthalum naan rasipen..athu sudugada irunthalum..they are so beautiful and artistic..vellaikaran sagum pothu kuda - santhoshama paduthu kidakiraan! sari matteruku varuvom..sari sudugadu pakkam pogama, city centre povamnu, nadanthen..pora valiyila oru srilankan grocery shop iruku..anga oru tamil ponnu velai seyuthu..romba nalla ponnu..she has completed her PhD and currently looking for a job..So just went in to give a chat to her...appo thaan she told me that the Robert Gordon Univ's malaysian tamil students association are celebrating the tamil new year in a hall...She told that they celebrate this every year and she is unable to go this year..immediately I asked her the most important question: soru poduvangala? :))..she relied in the affirmative :P..I was also interested in meeting tamil ppl..so I asked her for the place and sorgathuku nadanthen (nammaku soru kanda edam thaan sorgam :P lol)..when I reached there, I got myself a ticket (costed me 3 pounds)..sari enga ukarulamnu partha ella row-layum neraya jigidinga (ada chaa intha ambi-oda senthu naanum kettu poiten!)..I mean neraya ponnunga..ok naama thaan saamiyaar aite, oru thaatha pakathula poi ukanthuten (u got to believe this!)..ponna vudane, introduce panni kiten..he also introduced himself to me..he is a srilankan thaatha..70 vayasu irukum..I was asking y on earth is he living in this cold place..and he was telling me about his family matters..then our discussion went into spirituality..saiva siddhantham, vedantham-nu neraya pesunom..pesitu irukache, naan enna nadaka kudathunu nenaichano athu nadanthuduchu..irandu ponnunga vanthu en pakathula ukanthutanga..advaitam pesi kondu iruntha ennaku ippo en jaathagathula 11-la aatchi seyum sukran velai seya arambichitaar...aana en mind-ai control pannitu en pakathula iruntha dark colored, sharp nose, slim, red spots pota churidhar, ponna naan parkalai, pesala :P lol..sari programmes arambichichu..orai sangeetham..naamkum sangeethathukum vegu thooram..ennaku pudicha raagam saahana..ippo konja naala ennaku rithigowla-vum pudikum..ennaku pakathula iruntha ponnoda best friend veena vasichichu...etho athi thaalamo vedaalamo etho vaasichichu..sangeetham ellam mudincha vudane saapadu potanga..I wasnt hungry that day..still happy to eat proper srilankan food..sapititu, there were some more programmes..thaatha wanted to leave early so, I gave company to that thaatha and paati..jolly-a night 11 maniku road-la nadanthu vanthom..life starts after night 10.00 in aberdeen..there are so many disco clubs..ellarum orai boyfriends girfriends oda mapula road-la thirinchitu irunthanga..I was happy that I was walking along with a 70 yr old thaatha paati :)..Avangala avanga theruvula vittutu - naan en flatuku nadanthu poiten..it was a very good night..Thatha has kindly arranged me a place where I can buy proper srilankan home cooked food..so inime en saapadu pirachinai solved..:)
